Divvy Bike-share program is coming to Humboldt Park!

If you hadn’t heard, a bike-share program launched in several Chicago neighborhoods in late June. The Chicago Department of Transportation program, Divvy, will eventually have 4,000 bikes available for use 24 hours a day at 400 locations citywide by 2014, with 300 stations and 3,000 bikes by the end of this summer.divvybikes

In less than a month, the program stats are impressive:

  • Over 50,000 trips taken to date
  • Over 3,100 Annual Members
  • Over 14,000 24-Hour Pass Holders
  • Over 175,000 miles traveled (that’s over 7 trips around the Earth!)

Now the program is coming to Humboldt Park. The station, scheduled to be installed by July 29th, will be located on North Avenue & Campbell and will include 15 docks. Nearby stations in Logan Square also due to be installed will be located at California & Palmer with 15 docks, and Stave Street & Armitage with 11 docks.

Other upcoming stations will include:

•Kedzie and Milwaukee avenues

•Albany and Fullerton avenues

•Kedzie Avenue and Palmer Street

•Rockwell Street and Milwaukee Avenue

•California and Armitage avenues

•California and Bloomingdale avenues

•California and North avenues

•California Avenue and Division Street

•Western Avenue and Division Street
